LandWise is a progressive Tasmanian company dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable environmental solutions. With a strong focus on wastewater management, contaminated waste management, agricultural waste management, and organic land application, we are committed to helping industries, councils, and agricultural businesses achieve responsible environmental outcomes.
LandWise was founded on the experience and values developed through a successful family-owned business that has operated across Tasmania, Victoria, and the Northern Territory for more than 28 years. With extensive expertise in civil construction, heavy haulage, waste management, disposal, and resource recovery, we recognised an opportunity to bring a fresh approach to Tasmania's environmental resource management sector.
Throughout our experience in the industry, we identified gaps in service delivery, innovation, and sustainable resource recovery practices. LandWise was established to address these challenges by providing practical, compliant, and environmentally responsible solutions that maximise the value of waste streams while protecting our natural environment.

LandWise is a specialised division of Giraffe Excavations, one of Tasmania’s leading civil and environmental contracting companies. Backed by more than 28 years of industry experience across Tasmania, Victoria, and the Northern Territory.
LandWise was established to deliver innovative and sustainable wastewater, biosolids, and organic waste management solutions.
Giraffe Excavations has expertise that spans civil construction, forestry roads and bridge construction (ranging from 7–17 metre spans), subdivisions, quarry management, wastewater management, and biosolids handling. This extensive experience provides LandWise with the knowledge, equipment, and capability to manage projects of all sizes safely, efficiently, and in accordance with environmental best practices.
Biosolids and wastewater management
Over the past five years, LandWise and Giraffe Excavations have successfully managed significant volumes of wastewater and biosolids throughout Tasmania, including:
• Over 42,000m³ of liquid waste handled annually through our vacuum tanker fleet.
• More than 152,000m³ of biosolids extracted, transported, and managed off-site.
• Over 385,000m³ of combined waste streams managed from treatment plants and industrial sites, with approximately 95% successfully diverted to beneficial land reuse.
• Proven dewatering and drying processes consistently achieving 25–30% volume reduction, delivering significant savings in transport and disposal costs.
